    IMO, their cuteness really doesn’t justify them having to exist. They have A LOT of genetic health problems, including not being able to breathe. Some countries have already banned breeding new pugs, and I think that’s the way to go. We shouldn’t create animals that we know will suffer their entire lives because of what we’ve bred them into.

      I know, my family had a lovely pug for 16 years.

      Looking back… I don’t think it had a very pleasant time, she was an active one, but in the last 5 or 6 years she just couldn’t move like she wanted. The other dog in our family died, and she had been with the pug for years up until she was 14…

      It makes me mad that the life of those dogs are basically mutilated to originally form to some white ladies needs for the dog to “look cute”. They really should genetically engineer pugs into having their faces back, because this is just cruel.
