Last Christmas my family all had to try my vegan options that were specifically for me and then I was the only one without leftovers. I made my own food, my parents made their food and they ate both. My family isn’t too bad all.things considered, my parents are perfectly OK demsocs that know they got the goods at the last moment they were gettable and it was mostly unions that got them there. My extended family either near dying age, my parents age (60s) or my bumpkin cousins ones a reddit gamer and the other is a Disney adult who got mad when she found out I told.my parents not to get her kids Harry potter stuff. Her oldest kid thinks I’m the coolest person ever and has green hair, a hand me down crust vest and I gave her my extra copies of lord of.the rings instead, she rules. The uncle who fathered both cousins is a guy in his late 50s who loves family guy who I hate cause he’s me if I never matured past age 12. Anyway they all eat a ridiculous amount and bring nothing at all. My parents buy up.a shitload of food and I do a lot of work making it cause I’m a pro and will help them with meat foods cause they’re dealing with enough anyway and I’m a literal professional. They still ate my food as well. I’m a pretty light eater and tend to spend the day before they show up drinking really heavily as I cook but they are absolute swine, I’ve seem some throw down 3 fully loaded plates and that’s like 4 pounds of food each time. And then they still eat dessert. My parents and I just like…approach food differently, they live cooking and it’s enjoyable as hell to teach them new things and they aren’t afraid to go vastly far afield of white people food. These guys eat 30 pounds of potatoes and meat and then need to eat my food to tell me ‘oh wow! This is actually good!’ Yeah, I know, I made it. If you like it that much I’ll do vegan Christmas dinner and until that isn’t anathema, don’t touch my fucking food.
I made vegan options and brought them for thanksgiving.
My bravery knows no bounds.
