I looked it up, named after how you eat it, by pulling it apart like a monkey.
Sometimes a monkey is just a monkey.
It’s an odd name for bread anyway. It looks nothing like a monkey.
I can sorta see “bear claws,” but it’s a stretch.
We should really just let the French name all food products.
