The creator of c/formula1, u/RightEnvironment created the community ~ 3 years ago I’d guess, posted nothing, never commented, and then disappeared.

Likely this user is not coming back.

I cannot remove this user from the moderator list. Can this be done for me?

I wish to do so to protect the channel from interference should the user become active again, or the account become compromised.

Of course, if the user comes back and wishes to rejoin the moderation team, I would welcome it.

Thank you for your time.

Maybe I’m new and I don’t know Lemmy well, but how can I do that without them commenting anywhere?

Thanks for the help so far!

Maybe one of the developers will weigh in and say otherwise, but I think it might actually not currently be possible for you to easily remove them given that they have never posted or commented, since posts and comments are where the ‘remove mod’ button is in the web UI.

Perhaps some other client allows it, and/or with a bit of effort you could maybe figure out how to hit the API that the ‘remove mod’ button hits using another HTTP client like curl.

At least now that you are the ‘creator’, if that account ever comes back to life they can’t remove you.

        Thanks for this.

If I had access to the DB I could do it (SQL is my area of expertise). CURL and all that I’m less au fait with, but I’ll have a play. I’m guessing I’ll get to the point of authentication and I’ll fall over there haha.

Worst case scenario is the community is safer now and I wait for the tools to improve.
