    It was sarcasm.

    I have not seen it specifically called “karma” on here, and Lemmy as it is doesn’t track your totals for you, outside of individual posts and comments. Also, a lot of folks here want to build a new community that isn’t like reddit, and the karma farming was indeed a bad thing and lead to people selling high-karma accounts to advertisers.

    Anyway, it was a joke.
