somewordendinginIxtoNo Stupid Questions@lemmy.ca•To type in letters with accents, i'm suppose to use a 'compose' key. My keyboard doesnt have a compose key. Any easy solutions that isnt like copying and pasting the letter from wikipedia?

2 years agoIf you are on Windows then PowerTools has a tool called QuickAccents which makes selecting accents really easy. Press and hold a letter and a menu pops up that allows you to select the accent you require. No link to MS or the software, just a happy user who has a friend called Hélène!
I have come from the ergo side as I have had pretty bad RSI in the past. I have a Perixx PERIBOARD which I got to replace an MS ergo keyboard after I dumped coffee over it and needed a new keyboard the same day.
It’s pretty good, quality is good, the wrist rest is hard plastic and feels it but it’s not bad. I spend all day, every day typing and it’s held up pretty well. Haven’t had any issues with connections, wireless works fine. It’s robust, keys feel OK. It’s not a $300 keyboard but honestly feels better than the $60 it costs. If you’re starting out on the ergo trail, I recommend considering them at least.
