Private use may not be a probleme, commercial may. I am not a lawyer at last.

It‘s an Web-App (only). I like Web-Apps. So it should be at osm.org . Is it curated by a working group?
The crowd also expects native apps in all app stores!

There also should be an OSM-App! (Android, iOS, Desktop)
And the apps and osm.org should be alike, mostly.
Ok, OSM only offers editors, no map use. But there are >2 FOOS apps, doing it: #OrganicMaps, #MapLibre, …
Could we “merge” projects to an OSM-app? Or setup a new one, supported by the existing teams? Sure, redundant apps are needed. But >2 parents could merge the best genes to a better offspring.

Yes, the “Street” in OSM is historical and rather wrong now. We can’t rename it to OpenMap?
There are a lot of trademarks, no-one knows the meaning: RTL BVB …
So it’s no problem to use “OSM” without referencing to the full name.
We should split our appearance. Two different Web portals with different functions:

Isn‘t it importand but trivial? Map projetions „destroys everything“ ;-)
Did the text mention the one and only exception? Use a 3D sphere to project the map on. Ok, where to place a scale in a VR space? Miles and km will become an angle. The scale could be a virtual tool to be pkacet in the map and get you „aur distance“.

Paul Norman’s vector tile project.
I hope, schema does not mean mapstyle, but what data/tagging is included in what zoom tile. The look of the map should be set in the client app.
I am waiting for a vector tile server and applucations.
And I wonder, if there are zoom tiles containing data vor detailed 3D rendering, or containing ALL taggs. May be we need a tile for default use and for all other.
