Most EVs with driver’s assist have sensors to detect other cars, curbs, and lanes. Wonder if they could also be trained to detect bicyclists or pedestrians and play sounds (in addition to slowing down).

You need that if you want to let managers remotely control settings via mobile apps.
Next time, the manufacturer will learn to use a local-only protocol like Matter.
They’re sticking in a vase full of glass pellets. I’d be more concerned about what’s on the table.

Try setting up an elderly parent with Teams.

As we have all been told, a solid metric of movie quality is how much money it brings in, or doesn’t.

You can get all that locally without having everything hoovered to the cloud.

Some day, HBO, Paramount, Discovery, Hulu, ESPN, Disney, and all the other streamers and over-the-air networks will join to offer a single price bundle, and then we’ll have…

Haha. As a consultant, I worked on a crapton of IoT projects. Not a single one could explain WHY they needed all that data. If you’re just storing user actions, it’s not really useful, or actionable.
I made coffee at 8:03 am on Tuesday, did laundry at 2:39.873 pm on a Saturday, or opened the fridge door at 6pm and closed it at 6:02pm.
So what.

That was old AI.
New AI uses a complex, multi-layer sequence of Magic 8-balls.

It could be corrosion, but none of the nearby contacts are affected. If the battery got splashed, odds are the other contacts may have also gotten some. But they all look ok. Given how extreme it is, I’d consider arcing, which could involve bad grounding or shorting somewhere. It’s hard to see if the plastic around it has been damaged or not. If yes, then it’s definitely some sort of spark.
Replacing the contact should be fairly easy if you can get the part. But you might want to go upstream and check the individual cells and contacts. Many of these batteries are clusters of 18650 cells. Easy to swap out. If there is any sign of damage to the internal battery contacts, then you might want to replace the contacts AND the cells.
Simple soldering ($20 soldering pen and material) and a wire brush. $30 multimeter to check for continuity and voltage/current levels.
