So I find this a good time to come back here and reflect on what we mentioned in our posts. So given what you said in your last reply and the latest outcome, what are your thoughts. I like to hear your perspective

I’m not too familiar with what happened back then. Was too little to understand. So I usually step out of these type of conversations. However today I am thinking of my kids and their future. They will inherit what is done now. The comrades at the top in the ANC never knew what they had themselves in for, once they had to start taking over and I have always wondered what it would have been like if it was a hand over process, rather than just take your shit and run, for the de klerk manne. That always had me saying, just wait for the old kronies to retire, and the new gen will take over, with better perspectives and approach. Then along came parties like EFF who tagerted the youth and in all honesty, burdened them with the hurt of the previous gen. Making sure they will keep on ruling from the grave. So how do we change things. In my opinion, it’ll always be education and time. That allows for individuals to make their own decisions based on facts and experiences. …The ANC knows this though.
I think we all want a change yes, but realistically I think, without a significant precursor catalyst that causes a big change such as what the “again” is referring to, I really doubt it. Remember we were on near civil war state before things changed the last time.

Where I stay these temperatures can be quite normal in summer. I’m now just worried that a hot summer’s day here will now go from 45 to 55. I’ve felt 50 before. It’s not fun. But besides that, I think of the implications for the agricultural sector. Good luck my European friends. I’ll report back in our summer.
Looks like somewhere I need to take a trip to. Beautiful!
Thanks for the informative and accurate reminder! … Crying in silence…
Absolutely agree. Those steps will be the best guide. Personally, I would sacrifice my account for a permaban. However, they will just delete the content, making it quite futile. It’s quite ridiculous if you think about it.
Anyways, I do think it might be easier when the mobile apps starts getting a little less buggy, and that can take a while. I can’t speak for all of them, but I use Mlem at this stage, and as basic as it is, it’s really promising. I think that if it get’s structured properly, with literally just those 3 steps you mention, and nothing more technical, it’ll be a no brainer. Open up a join “wizard” when you open the app. That’s up to the devs though. Perhaps it’s just a bit of a waiting game for such things to catch up a bit.
Mmm…wonder if any of those goes into making a plumbus?
Only a pleasure!
I agree, that’s good perspective. I think encourage positivity it likely better worded. (Never been a mod, just trying to contribute.)
That being said and done, we need to remember that this is not reddit, and our community rules do not supersede the instance owner’s code of conduct. For communities who are in lemmy.world, for instance, it needs to be noted what they say regarding controversial, “inflammatory”, topics, and even free speech. It’s very broad and nothing unreasonable, but might be good to remind people that all community rules taken into account, they stick to the rules of this community’s instance code of conduct as well. It’s not majorly complex, but lemmy.world does allow for what I suggested, thus making my suggestion just as simple as giving a link to the instance’s code of conduct.
I hope this helps a bit.
Omg…Thought I was the only one.
What I do Is I have a threshold. of switching on above say 75% and switching off below 70%. So it doesn’t have a set time. It’s just making sure things come down to at least 70% before it switches off. It does get more complex in winter as humidity tends to be higher by default, but I am playing around with the thresholds to figure out the optimal percentages. a fan on it’s own cant get the humidity down to below the general humidity in the area. Nonetheless. Fun to play with and works like a bomb.
Keep things positive. South Africa has much beauty and many positives that keeps us going. Positive news and being proud of our heritage is what keeps us all together. I think a lot of people started dreading r/southafrica at some point because we were beginning to become negative and also fought in the comments. This also links to the point you suggested. I really think we can do it South Africans! We’re all family. We’ve a got a bit of a clean slate here. And heres to a good Tuesday to all!
For me one of my favourites are my extractor fan control in my bathrooms. I have a switch on the fan and a humidity sensor close by. Turn on the shower and the extractor will turn on until the humidity is lowered enough, then switch off. In addition I have a static programmable button to press should you need it for other reasons. I just love the world of entities and how they link together to make something functional.
Change places!
Nope I guess I just wanted to bring up this reply of yours again. I don’t know who down voted it but thought they might want to have a look at it again. Lol
