  • Three things,

    • Have you tried using a newer kernel?
    • You should be able to use a USB tethering to use your phone for internet.
    • I really despise USB & PCIE WiFi adapters as they cause so many issues. If your computer has an ethernet port then you are better off getting an WiFi access point that has Wi-Fi bridge mode, you can connect your computer to it using an ethernet cable then connect the access point to the WiFi. Your computer only sees the ethernet connection so no additional drivers, settings or futzing around needed.

  • You could try either googling your ISP name + country + router setup to see if they publish their settings or you can contact the ISP to see if they will give them to you.

Note this is all dependent on the ISP giving you a ONT fiber box that you connect a router to using an ethernet cable. Some ISP’s will give a router that the fibre is plugged into which is a different beast altogether.

  • That is defiantly a meshtastic node.

It may help responders who have been trained on the device & app’s, have the app’s already downloaded and configured and have a reliable way to recharge both the devices and cell phones.

If they are trying to get more people to install fixed stations and learn how to use them then more power to them.

Though I think that they may have a easier time getting people to start installing PRS radios in vehicles, homes, heavy machinery and getting handheld units.

It is a lot simpler and cheaper to get a PRS radio installed & provided with reliable power and 90% of people can use them without training.
