They’re one of the SPACs. Several of those companies went public (imo) for the cash that they couldn’t otherwise get. AST… I mean, they’re pre-revenue and have launched 1 demo sat. They shouldn’t be public. I might dust off my day trading account to short them…
✅Vulcan

The Kuiper fleet is starting to come together, but getting to an operational cadence is another question.
I guess that delay from the Kuiper test sats in Oct '23 to the first operational launch soon™ isn’t really different from SpaceX going from the Tintin test sats in Feb '18 to operational sats in May '19. I’m just impatient.
I’m hoping it’s just an “SUV” shaped hatchback. That still means the hood and belt line will be weirdly high for no reason except bad visibility fragile egos looking muscular, but that size seems like the best thing we can hope for in the US.
Go Nyx! It’s cool to see one startup and one legacy supplier (where have we seen this before…). Hopefully The Exploration Company pulls this off and comes up with a better name (XComp? Thexco? I’m not in marketing for a reason).
Amazon also has to actually build satellites at some point. They could have already been launching on the Atlas Vs they bought. And having Kuiper sats ready would mean ULA doesn’t have to launch the 2nd Vulcan with a mass sim.
I hope it’s the size of the Avenger or R3. Something that size and shape with some ground clearance could fully replace my ICE car for camping and hiking in the mountains.
Don’t forget about luxury! There are so many fun new features (that surely won’t break) to get around how bloated cars got, how bad their sightlines are, and how lazy drivers are.
AST should make it to their first launch of 5, but it doesn’t seem like they have a ton of cash on hand or much runway. I hope they succeed with their first launch, but this is still a super expensive market to break into, especially with no revenue and no billionaire founder.
Firefly is a weird company. It seems like their rocket is getting better but not quite there yet? We’ll see how the lunar lander does.
I like Gateway just because I want more space stations, but Artemis/NASA really need to save some time and money…
Artemis 2 mission remains scheduled for launch in September 2025
3 years after A-1. Just a mess from top to bottom.
Good on Northrop. They got out ahead of the startups and are selling a useful service.

Spaceport Camden could have been a good location if there was demand, but at least ending it is good for Cumberland Island.
removed and flopping
I mean, you said it right there
Kyrie has also burned a lot of bridges
Reducing part count and vertically integrating makes more sense to me than asking suppliers to charge less money.
Mandate cab over trucks
That’s impressive! They’re more serious than I expected.
Meanwhile, though, Falcon 9 booster 1062 has lainched and landed 21 times.
