SunDevilto Privacy•Firefox added ad tracking and has already turned it on without asking youEnglish3·1 year agoI could be mistaken, but I’m pretty sure all donations go to The Mozilla Foundation. I believe the foundation is the decision-making power for the corporation.
Either way, yes, Mozilla sold their soul to Google (specifically, giving preference to Google Search) in exchange for sustainability (read: survival). Rather difficult to compete in a market where Google and Apple collectively hold upwards of 85% market share for something they provide “free.”
SunDevilto Technology@lemmy.world•Las Vegas' dystopia-sphere, powered by 150 Nvidia GPUs and drawing up to 28,000,000 watts, is both a testament to the hubris of humanity and an admittedly impressive technical feat | PC GamerEnglish71·1 year ago“Capable of drawing 28,000,000 watts of power” doesn’t tell us anything. As was noted, it should’ve been given in megawatts (28 mW) or kilowatts (28,000 kW). Clickbait aside, how many kilowatt-hours (kWh) does it actually use?
28 mW isn’t that much energy, relatively speaking. As of 2015, Forbes estimated LV uses 8000 mW on an average summer day.
The potential is impressive. I doubt it pulls anywhere near that. Unless I did my math wrong, this seems sensationalist.
SunDevilto Selfhosted@lemmy.world•What tool do you use to display your self-hosting infrastructureEnglish1·1 year agoIs there a way or an app to automate that?
Sadly, not to my knowledge. It’s an app-by-app process. I could see an Ansible play or similar potentially fulfilling such a role, but I’m not aware of any existing projects.

PGP ftw.
While I’m not sure dropping Firefox is necessary at this juncture, I’ve had a good experience using LibreFox. Hearing a lot about Zen, though.
