It’s a choice, it’s just a funny meme that half of folks I these circles want to die and half will use anyway lol.
You do you bud, there’s no One Beat Distro and a lot of em can be bent into whatever shape you need anyway.

At least you’re in the right place bro (Arch btw)
That’s Todd, he’s an ally.
It’s a pretty fun game too!
Last time I tried to engrave my seed on metal I got kicked out of the park.
You’re right, fuck charitable giving and social work, you might in some way be incentivised to do it and then what’s even the point?! We should just rage at the systemic issues from afar, that way we don’t risk having some rando on the Internet think we’re an asshole. 👍
I said the same when it came up the other day, as I generally don’t watch anything longer then 30mins or so on YouTube. But I put it in the background while I was working and ended up into the whole thing.
She seems like she does a decent format.
Or when they went to Pluto or something and Ralphie took off his helmet for some reason and fucking died? 😆
You’re describing a Steam Machine, and I guess they were just years ahead of their time. 🤷♂️
Into the Radius is a VR game that has weapons get dirty as you fire them. For lower amounts of wear you can find/buy a ramrod and some toilet paper and just clean the barrel pretty cheaply and it only takes a few seconds if you maintain them well. For more worn out weapons you’ll need to spray some cleaning fluid and scrub them with a brush to bring the durability back up to the levels where you can work on the barrel, and fluid can be expensive or hard to find. The more worn a weapon is the more it will start to misfire or jam, requiring you to clear rounds etc.
It feels pretty balanced if you keep on top of maintenance in your downtime, and feels like a good excuse for some VR interaction.
You should see the rest of the overpriced toys these guys have marketed as genius over the years.
Anecdotal like the rest of the posts here, but I recently built a new rig for gaming/lab testing and used a Gigabyte board for the first time in a decade after seeing good reviews and a solid sale price.
About 3 weeks after setting everything up it just crapped out. Would reboot seconds after you pressed power. Checked and verified absolutely every other part, no luck. Tried to contact support, got the runaround for a few days until I was directed to a site to submit an RMA request.
That was a month ago, zero movement still. About 4 days into it I bought an identical part of Amazon and “traded” em. I’m usually pretty ethical about that kind of thing but this was ridiculous and I needed the PC working ASAP.
Who’s decent anymore? I always used to go with MSI.
Agreed. It sounds like most of your issues were just that you weren’t the primary user account. If you had done all this under hers it should have been pretty easy. I got mine second hand from my sister after the caught it on fire and I managed to repair it, had the same issues until I factory reset and set up an account for myself.
Not defending Meta at all, but I think I just had to check a box on their developer portal signed in to my account?
Anyway, I’m right there with you on picking up whatever valve has cooked up as soon as they announce something!
Woah, not sure what you ran into, but my install process was to check the box that I was a developer and side load the adb package. I’ve been streaming a dozen games from my EndeavourOS PC for a few weeks now with no issues.
Anecdotal of course, clearly your milage has varied.
ALVR works pretty well. Not zero setup but it’s there. 🤷♂️
You haven’t seen how they’ve inspected my guitar and a shitload of imported things over the years lol
Ah I think I was unclear. The meme is what folks get tired of, the distro is a popular one on its own or as a base for others.
If you’re interested in looking into Linux but don’t know where to start, the only thing you really need to know is how much time you’re willing to put into learning it, and how big the community is. Arch has a huge amount of documentation, but will make things a little harder if you want stuff to “just work”. Debian is more of a middle ground (but huge community), and Mint is a popular easier to get into environment but honestly I’m out of the loop on that one these days.Arch is actually the base of the one I use at the moment for gaming and dev work (EndeavourOS). Options are overwhelming, I get it 😁
The cool thing? Try em all. You can easily find simple installers to slap a whole distro onto a bootable thumb drive and goof off while you feel things out. If you don’t like it, reboot. If your wifi doesn’t work and you can’t find a solution online in a few minutes, reboot. Things are easier and more flexible now then they’ve ever been, but the new user experience is still where Linux really struggles.
Anyway, I’m super into this shit clearly. 😆 Happy to point you in a more solid direction if you want at some point, or I can just shut up lol
