I would have more respect for high voter turnout during state and local elections. Those are more important than the presidential election.

He didn’t have presidential immunity, both branches of Congress, and the Supreme Court. And now he has all the Project 2025 people who are far more hungry for human misery than he is. And they’re happy to do his job for him.

Everything that’s coming: If you didn’t vote, you voted for it. If you voted Shill Stein, you voted for it. If you voted Trump and you “didn’t know it would be this way”, you’re as complicit as the non-voters and the boutique voters.

Deliberate ignorance, a lack of critical thinking, and the propaganda that you allowed to game your emotions were all at play here.

If this ends up being anything like the 1918 outbreak, housing prices will come waaay down. Cremations, however, will cost quite a bit more…

Congress establishes foreign aid, not the president. And there won’t be much protesting about Gaza anymore because the purpose of the protests has already proved successful, to disenfranchise Democrats for a Trump win.

Yeah, entertained by your own anger and the hubris to never be wrong… Gaza is fucked now, and apparently the West Bank, too. The lesser of two evils is all there is in this world, and you sit there celebrating that evil won (at the behest of quite a few minorities).

My fellow Americans, if you sat out the election because Harris didn’t excite you enough or she wasn’t perfect, what’s coming from Trump is on you.

And if you voted for Jill Stein because you don’t understand how foreign aid is established (it’s via Congress) or you believed the hype of “genocide” or that Republicans weren’t worth your protests, what’s coming to Gaza is on you.

So left wing Democrats responded by sitting on their hands instead of voting, knowingly allowing the country to slide into whatever authoritarian hellhole that awaits us? Now that’s the definition of pettiness.

Lots of people here frame this as a Biden and Harris policy. While the Senate is evenly split between parties, the House is majority Republican. Congress is where this money is allocated. And Trump is rabidly anti-Muslim. But sure, frame aid as Biden and Harris only. Never mind what will happen once Trump wins the election.

Not every “red state” has enough blue people in it to flip, but voter turnout is absolutely the issue in most states. You wanna vote third party and feel connected to some little clique, fine. But don’t expect the Democrats, or the country, to ever change for you. Make your vote valuable.
