They have to pay the fine back to people who all paid the fee right???

People can be against EVs and still be for the environment. EVs still need massive amounts of parking and lanes, our zoning laws often mean we keep destroying natural land to pave these spaces. The EV will also prolong the suburban experiment which is massively worse for the environment compared to desner housing options. Some people view EVs as delaying some of the more pressing issuses related to tranportation and city development in our urban areas.
Personally I think EVs are better than ICE but i dont think just swapping them out is doing enough for the environment or to reduce our overall energy demands.
I don’t see how harris winning makes everyone suddenly love trudeau again. The liberals need a new leader if they want to prevent a conservative win.
If you can drive to work in 15 minutes. Properly funded and prioritized transit can get you there in 10. Hourly bus service is not good transit.
You can buy an EV and have a country invest in transit. These do not need to be exclusive things
Personally i just use a toothpick, but i usually clean for smooth operation as I rarely run out these days.
I agree with banning smartphones during classes. They are incredibly distracting and I know i didn’t understand the real value of that free education until well after I had graduated.
I also think less dependence on social media for staying in touch and communicating could help reduce loneliness and some of the depression and anxiety some people face. If we are less connected at our fingertips to people, we are more inspired to see and connect with them in person, which in my experience is more fullfilling.
You’re probably still getting some steel in the weed. It is very unlikely the knife and the grinder share the exact hardness.
I don’t think the average human has enough mass to meaniningfully use a crumplezone. The trend of higher bumper heights causes more head an chest injuries than lower bumper heights. Higher bumper heights also increase the chances of being run over.
The average car is also much heavier these days and simple math means that car will have more force on impact at the same speed compared to a lighter car.
If cars are safer for pedestrians than ever, then why are pedestrian deaths increasing?
The limit should be the enforceable and safe speed for the road, the road design should reflect the desired speedlimit.
My area recently built highway bypasses around town. One section is built exactly like a freeway but they slapped a 60 km/h sign on it. Nobody does 60 km/h because the road feels like, and is designed for, 100 km/h. This is the wrong way to do it. If a road is a 60 km/h zone, the lanes should be more narrow and the banking on the turns should not allow average drivers to feel safe at 120 km/h.
Canada is already set to implement a 100% tarrif while claiming it wants people to switch to EVs. Why are we making affordable EVs unaffordable if we want average people to make the change?
How many of those sirens are responding to a car related accident?I would assume a signifcant amount. They may also be able to use their sirens less if streets were less congetsed. I’m also much more forgiving hearing a siren responding to an emergency than hearing a modfiied honda fart all the way to McDonalds.
Not doing anything about car noise pollution just because sirens and helicopters still exist is a poor solution.
No no, one apartment building and the rest of the island is a surface level parking lot because an underground lot was too expensive.
I’ve always understood it as going both ways. Someone you call your own, they also get to have you as their own. I’m all yours, and you’re all mine. I’ve viewed it as a way of expressing desire and commitment.
Weed isn’t illegal in my country. It is also unsafe for them and others to be driving so unsafely and there is no other service that can intervene with them.
I see many motorcyclists doing this but it is not the majority of riders. I’ve started reporting dangerous driving, aggressive driving, dangerous passes, and high speed drivers to police. On major or regional highways it is often effective as I’ll pass them pulled over later, results in towns/cities are less reliable due to traffic and more route options.
For the bikers I consider it a favour to them, one I called in was practically asking to get flattened by a semi truck, riding the line while tailgating people waiting to pass. Even if they don’t hit anything their erratic driving could cause another driver to panic, swerve, or brake and could cause an accident.
Won’t anyone think of the poor suburbanites? These walkable cities are so hostile to them, where can they park their chevy suburban megacab ultrawide edition?
He seems to be prioiritizing the trident right now over the net. I would have thought the net to be the prioirty then you can stand back a bit and poke them as they struggle to escape.
My parents got pet insurance the first day they adopted a puppy. Within a week he had blood in his urine and the insurance refused to cover it. Then he got his toe cut and infected, again the insurance refused to cover it. They also said future issues with legs, gait, walking or anything that can be linked to the amputated toe won’t be covered. If pet insurance doesn’t cover medical issues or injuries, what the hell does it cover?
