My understanding was that the money from the bad check was actually showing up in their available balance before it officially cleared. Then they’d withdraw the money before the bank actually rejected the check.

The reason I think is because any unofficial and potentially unsecured communications access point seems like a vulnerability. If some moron posts a picture using that unofficial access point I’d be worried it could be traced to the ship’s location.

Had that experience with Comcast about 2 weeks ago. Took 15 minutes and three attempts to get to a representative. The chat bot couldn’t figure out what I meant when I said I needed my cable buried again. On a side note it’s been 2 weeks and they still haven’t sent anyone out to bury it again 🤦‍♂️

I second all of your statements. I don’t care if my Apple TV is on WiFi, but my gaming desktop is most definitely hooked to an Ethernet cable. I also use a wired keyboard and mouse on it, but I’ll admit I have a cheap wireless keyboard and mouse for my work laptop because I didn’t want to deal with another set of cables on the same desk, and I can’t think of a good solution for both machines to share the same keyboard and mouse without having to switch the cables between them all the time.
