Does nobody get that the original isn’t literally fine with burning alive? I’ve seen multiple “fixes” that are just needlessly spelling out the subtext.

  • I dunno. If someone’s building a PC, they are most probably using it for more than just chrome-level stuff. And for me at least, if I’m going to spend the time and money on new components, I’m going to get the biggest and best that I can afford/justify. The higher end comments are going to fair much better as tech develops further along, and I consider them an investment into not going through the same process again in just a few years time.

  • You’re getting downvoted unfairly here. Yes, it’s the “right” choice to maximize the time with your kids when you can as those moments will go by faster than we think they will, but it’s also not the wrong choice to make sure you take care of yourself. Every parent is going to make their own decisions, and nobody’s “doing it wrong” as long as the child is reasonably happy and healthy (to the extent uncontrollable forces allow). We’re all just getting along here.

  • Ech@lemmy.worldtoFediverseCould we use this sorting algorithm on Lemmy?

Not really interested in anything that even remotely mirrors “engagement” driven algorithms seen on other sites. It’s predictably resulted in siloing of information and the explosion of “rage-bait” content that’s pretty much taken over. Lemmy being different than that is a boon, not a deficit.
