The project they put me on concluded like two days after i finished the training (lmao) so now I’m waiting to be reassigned but hey i made $70 on the assessment tasks!
Good shit though, also I’ve never done a job that made me feel like I’m taking part in some cosmic eldritch ritual beyond my understanding quite like this one
No problemo, happy to share!
I’ve been learning little bits about the deep fungal mysteries and there’s so much cool stuff happening with our freaky little not-animal not-plant disturbingly genetic overlap with humans buddies!
I was just reading that a few kinds grow around here! Aside from the (seemingly) easily distinguishible poison sumac i think they all produce a similar edible fruit. I’ll have to do some more reading and start keeping an eye out for it. Foraging is awesome though, I’ve been stoked on mushrooms mostly but i also have a list of plants to check out that seems to keep expanding. Check out these ghost pipes i found growing out of a very old tree stump the other day:
It’s a really cool little plant. The absence of chlorophyll is the reason they’re translucent. Instead of doing their own photosynthesizing, they steal energy from trees through the mycelium of associated mychorrizal fungi, which makes them epiparasites
i’ve got a computer in my pocket and i still feel naked
For sure! Candy often has citric acid too, i think malic acid is maybe more commonly found in like apples and stone fruits or something? (Fruitwise that is- you’re definitely right that it’s also in candy). People call iced sumac tea indian koolaid for what turns out are extremely obvious reasons; it tastes like black cherry koolaid mixed with the fruit punch one. Just a real nice sorta tart berry flavor.
I got a bag of sumac flakes and the Middle Eats guy is correct, it does indeed make a tasty drink. It also elevated my poppyseed dressing/pumpkin seed/pine nut salad to the next astral level. Bought it on amazon (it was “the spice way” brand if anyone cares) but I’m gonna try to find it for cheaper somewhere local because i wanna use this stuff all the time. Next time I’m gonna sprinkle some coarsely chopped lemon balm from the garden on it too and it’s going to be fr*ggin’ insane.
that’s almost enough to open a novelty internet storefront. fascinum emporium or something
ahh i overlooked the driving time, that does blow. do you get paid for travel time at least (🤞🤞🤞)?
props to student dentists at the college clinic stealing extra lidocaine for my comfort
this is all definitely fucked and i’d just like to say
and that i often find your posts very relatable
Oooooof that sucks, weed can sometimes be a destroyer of worlds and it sounds like you now have firsthand knowledge of that unfortunate fact. But you made it! And on the bright side maybe you can use this experience to help spin future bad shit into perspective. I took WAY TOO MANY hawaiian baby woodrose seeds like fifteen years ago and to this day it’s remained the most horrible thing i have ever endured. During the number of extremely bad experiences I’ve had since then i always think back to the hwbr seeds and go “yeah this definitely sucks but at least it’s not as bad as hawaiian baby woodrose seeds HA,” and then whatever it is becomes at least a tiny bit more manageable
Up to 1500BPM+!!
what kind of heavy metal flavor profile? personally i enjoy molybdenum
lmao damn i never thought about it like that, still true though
Hey thanks!
