Conservative Christians want a theocracy but suck at governing. Didn’t we already know this?

Announcement that Blizzard is laying off the entire WoW team (due to “restructuring” and while keeping affected colleagues in their thoughts) in 3, 2, 1….
In other words, they skipped internal stress testing and staged rollout to production systems. Instead, they pushed a template based on results of a single (faulty) validation check to all customers.
Geez
Gotta love a simple physical solution to a problem that doesn’t leave exploitable loopholes. By simply physically blocking imports, Poland can control the situation and just let Lukashenko and Xi scream into the void.
So is this a map of retirement migration? Social and economic security? Long winters?
Not exactly “low profile.”
This is a really cool idea, and some fediverse software already lets you follow hashtags (ie Pixelfed and maybe Mastodon). I could imagine this being immediately abused by mistagging to force material into your feed. It’s already a problem on Pixelfed.
The old Soviet prison cities still exist. So yeah, that’s a possibility

I have zero sympathy for Putin or his enablers. I have great sympathy for the rest of Russian society who’ll be left to pick up the pieces after draftees return home injured and traumatized. Almost no one asked for this. It’s too bad we couldn’t just send Putin & Co to an isolated location and let them do whatever they do without harming anyone else.
Would be cool if they had the power to do something about it then.
Is this going to be like “prescription” pet food? Four times more expensive just for branding?
So Crowdstrike knew they had a problem before it happened?
Nvidia and their Chinese customers had to see this coming. Wonder if they’ll also be fined for trying to circumvent the export ban?
Thanks for the explanation. I really do appreciate it. We seem to have a fundamental disagreement about whether this can be truly private and, indeed, whether it’s necessary at all. It still seems to me a non-private solution in search of a problem.
I haven’t experienced mics bad enough to make me wish I were there in person. And I haven’t had that experience in any online poster hall, but maybe I just got lucky?
Joplin has this functionality, although I don’t often use it since I prefer to type directly into the Markdown editor. Whatever you choose, be sure that you’re comfortable with the security and privacy implications of it.
