Can anyone recommend a #book about #plants that takes a bit of a scientific approach? Something that not only gives tips on HOW to care for them, but also explains WHY it works? Ideally covering the most common house and garden plants in #europe. Is there anything like that?

    Did a quick stroll into our stacks to see if we had anything and here are a couple to maybe look at:
    ‘The Complete Houseplant Survival Manual’ by Barbara Pleasant
    ‘What’s Wrong with my Houseplant?’ by David Deardorff and Kathryn Wadsworth
    And one that seems quite old: ‘Ralph Snodsmith’s Fundamentals of Gardening’ by Ralph Snodsmith (obviously)

    They all seem to have more “explainer” parts than just a catalog of plants w/ their basic care tips like most
