There is a discussion on Hacker News, but feel free to comment here as well.
Imagine a Prusa where […] saved payment details which ensure that a fresh spool of Prusa filament arrives at your front door when it auto-detects that your printer is almost out.
Yeah, no, fuck off.
If you want a reliable open source printer and don’t want to build it yourself, Prusa is the best option.
Wow this guy is an idiot, and clearly doesn’t understand what Prusa is about. The things he advocates for are disgusting, and counter to the entire mission of the company.
And no, Crealitys $800 flagship does not beat the MK4 in every way. People don’t buy Ender 3s and then are happy for a couple years like he suggests. They buy Enders and spend so much time and money replacing their shitty parts that Creality provides that they either get crazy and swear off Creality forever, or they get Stockholm Syndrome from all the effort they put into the machine to even get it to print and stick with it due to sunk cost fallacy.
No I don’t want cloud printing.
No I don’t want premium service contracts.
No I don’t want to ship my printer for maintenance.
No I don’t want auto shipping filament or even for Prusa to be able to connect to my printer at all for that matter.
Typical MBA type viewing things through an ECON101 lense.
Why does this community let this dude spam hundreds of links a day? He never comments, so they’re not really a part of the community…
Prusa, the VanMoof of 3D printers?
If I would have to compare a printer manufacturer to VanMoof, it would be BambuLab, not Prusa.
