Further proves salary reform is needed at the Federal level: Increase wages enough that restrictions can be put in place to prevent such crap from happening in the future.

I’m sorry but is $300k not enough? And that is just their federal pay. All of them have book deals and get an extra couple hundred thousand a year from that. If they have issues living on that, they have some serious spending problems.
It’s good in theory, but knowing how greedy these people in power are, raising their salaries just means they can get even richer with bribes and under-the-table deals on top of it, so they’ll do it anyway.
