@gaycookie @raccoon @fediversenews @fediverse MacOS only comes on Apple devices whereas Windows comes on things Microsoft doesn’t make?
@freakinbox @raccoon @fediversenews @fediverse Yes but no, it doesn’t matter what device it is on. No matter what device, it is indeed Microsoft’s Windows but MacOS can (not easy) also be installed on non-Apple devices but it will still be Apple’s MacOS.
@gaycookie @raccoon @fediversenews @fediverse “Comes on” as in out of the box.
You can buy many devices not made by Microsoft that come with Windows preinstalled, this is not the case with MacOS.
@freakinbox @raccoon @fediversenews @fediverse Yes, but you install the application on the OS, and it does not matter how the OS got there xD
And since it is STILL developed by Apple. And if you name “Microsoft”, why not mention “Apple” xD
@gaycookie @raccoon @fediversenews @fediverse Then why not have every main distro of Linux listed?
I offered you a possible reason and you seem more concerned with avoiding admitting that you misread what I said and focused more on arguing instead…
“And since it is STILL developed by Apple. And if you name “Microsoft”, why not mention “Apple” xD” - See my original toot reply to you for a possible reason why :)
Even Wikipedia seems to name them as such
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microsoft_Windows
@gaycookie @raccoon @fediversenews @fediverse whereas it’s Mac Operating systems regarding Mac OS
It’s an OS for a Macintosh, now just called a “Mac” 🤷

@marquiskurt @freakinbox @raccoon @fediverse But my whole point was why “Microsoft” is there, not why there is no “Apple” there xD
Since we all know MacOS is part of Apple and we all know Windows is part of Microsoft.
😊
@gaycookie @marquiskurt @raccoon @fediverse I believe the key thing to note here is that it doesn’t say “Microsoft’s” it says “Microsoft”

@marquiskurt @gaycookie @raccoon @fediversenews @fediverse at least until Vista the loading screen said “Microsoft Windows” from 3.1 to XP.
