As was pointed out in another post this is a bullshit click bait headline. The article makes it clear that shareholder value matters to upper level employees but that as a company they should be looking for other means to motivate everyone else.
I worked at a Panera for 6 years during college and after(while trying to get another job. I was good in at $8/hr and after learning and working every non management position besides Baker I left at $8.27/hr.
I personally was very happy to see my hard earned money go to shareholders instead of myself…
