Where I am in america you can get a buy a gun when you reach 18, alcohol when you reach 21 and cough syrup when you reach 40.

After a bit of looking around and discussing here with folks I think its likely the person meant that they card anyone who does not look over 40 but it sounded to my wife like you had to be over 40 to buy it.

My wife was carded for it and told you had to be 40. I suspect there was a mis communication but I thought it was funny. I do know there was federal legislation to restrict it to 25 but I would not surprise if I state upped it to stricter.
Probably also 21 or 18 and they are required to ID of you look younger than 40
yeasterday I found something about federal legislation for 25 but can’t today and im thinking whatever it was was likely not passed. I found my state does not allow it if pure but I can’t find any other restrictions. I also notice here 25 is mostly given as the age people have to look to not card (which the more I think about it is wierd and silly. its so subjective). I wonder if the person was telling my wife their own personal criteria to not card.
