Cool. Now do every other industry doing exactly the same thing.
I mean…did you read who the plaintiffs are?
Plaintiffs in the case are Kraft Foods Global, Kellogg’s, General Mills and Nestle USA
I can’t imagine them getting 110m settlement will be a “win” exactly.
General Mills Inc., Kellogg Co., and Nestle SA were the ones who sued.
So basically, I’ve been rooting for a giant asteroid to hit the plaintiff and defendant tables mid trial.
before any one starts imagining bond-esque villains and plots to take over the world…
it was just a conspiracy to jack the rates of the eggs up.
Okay, but do you know how angry the average Facebooker is about the price of eggs? It’s a thing that certain people are quite upset about. Of all the inflationary hits, for some reason eggs have really hit theses folks’ funny bones.
It’s because for the longest time, eggs were the cheapest and fastest way to get protein into your body. Especially compared to the cost of meat. But now, because of inflation, everyone is trying to be more frugal which just jacks the price of those goods and makes us all suffer more.
Also, eggs are in a ton of recipes.
That’s the real conspiracy right there.

If it is just a single egg, you can often just remove it and be ok. With two eggs add a bit more flour (banana also works but alters taste). More than that and no idea.
At least that is what my fiancée says

I mean, yeah. But there’s no submarines, or sharks with lasers, or anything.
Its just plain old white collar price fixing. BoRiNg.
Website was shit so couldnt see.
I wonder what the penalties will be for them causing the pointless inflation? Probably nothing…
I was able to read it. Damages sought: 110 million.
It’s a Nothingburger
