There also should be an OSM-App! (Android, iOS, Desktop)
And the apps and osm.org should be alike, mostly.
Ok, OSM only offers editors, no map use. But there are >2 FOOS apps, doing it: #OrganicMaps, #MapLibre, …
Could we “merge” projects to an OSM-app? Or setup a new one, supported by the existing teams? Sure, redundant apps are needed. But >2 parents could merge the best genes to a better offspring.
@karlos
Actually, there’s an “OSM App”: https://osmapp.org , which bills itself as the “universal OpenStreetMap app.” 😉

It‘s an Web-App (only). I like Web-Apps. So it should be at osm.org . Is it curated by a working group?
The crowd also expects native apps in all app stores!
The start does not look like me/we are used to.
It looks like a good start.

@karlos @weeklyOSM @openstreetmap@a.gup.pe @openstreetmap@lemmy.ml I agree with most of this. But it shatters the philosophy of many of the interests that control OSM. There are consulting companies and more that profit off OSM being difficult to use, and needing an insider expert to get map tiles or apps made. OSM would need to become a product oriented team with executive leadership and get away from being a semi anarchy that is only interested in mapping (which is excellent) and not in usability/proliferation
