LANSING — Right to Life, Republican lawmakers and other abortion foes filed suit Wednesday seeking to overturn a voter-approved amendment to the Michigan constitution that guarantees a right to reproductive freedom.

The complaint alleges that Proposal 3’s broad guarantee of reproductive rights will make it impossible for a future Legislature to reinstate those regulations, should lawmakers decide to do so at a later date.

Very much so. Down here in Ohio we did the same thing. If we decide abortion needs restrictions we’ll do another amendment. But frankly we had roe, we liked roe. I want a federal amendment of an explicit right to privacy that codifies roe in no uncertain terms and leans towards more freedom.

Anti abortion activists are zealots hell bent on forcing people to be pregnant against their will

I mean yeah but the real reason is a lot of these people have very poor science skills and they actually believe that fetuses and embryos are complete human people, and that you’re just killing human beings willy nilly.

It’s why education is so important.

Their argument is that the amendment to the state constitution violates the 14th amendment of the US Constitution, stating that the “pre born” are having their rights violated. These people are nuts and this won’t go anywhere.
