The only things I remember about Generations was asking what I would do to get back into bliss and crying when the D was about to crash. I was so mad at Data for his stupid joke too. Now I get his great joke and the ship was only a model.

That, and I was 7 and Star Trek was my whole world. Watching TOS with my (much older) brother every week was how we bonded.

I remember that movie … and even as a kid watching it for the first time without knowing much about Star Trek it was deeply emotional

I just watched ‘An Obol for Charon’ - S02E4 of Discovery … the episode where Saru has a major crisis … and I couldn’t believe the amount of emotion they put into those scenes … I just about broke down myself

… and now it’s your 1,000th post!!! WAHHHHHHHH!!! … now you’ve got me crying tears of joy!

The love between Kirk and Spock is pretty palpable in that movie. Not surprised that even to a non-Trekkie that it would hit hard.

Also… yes. That Saru episode fucked me up. That whole season is a roller coaster. A lot of intensely emotional moments. They’re just gonna keep coming buddy! Feel free to message me about any of 'em if you wanna talk about it. Not like I don’t love Discovery lol

Boys interesting and quirky, like cool things like sci-fi, Spock, and pew pew lasers

Girls dumb and generic, probably like titanic, have cooties

TNG, season 3, episode 3… “The Survivors”.

Like my god. The gravity of that conclusion. It’s quite the Shakespearian tragedy. John Anderson just raids that role.

I cried during “Titanic.” I can’t believe I spent $7.50 on such a dumb movie. It was trying so hard to press people’s buttons, plus I hated the idea that in order to like the female character, she had to “give up” her wealthy heritage and “descend” to the common man’s level first, the same plot as the movie “Overboard.” What is the message here - that having money is wrong and automatically makes you a removed. What an ironic thing for hollywood people to be shoveling in our direction.

I thought it was god-awful. I saw it with my father, who was obsessed with the Titanic, and he hated it more than I did.

There’s a British movie from the 50s about the Titanic called A Night to Remember which is much better. I see there are colorized versions on YouTube. I’d rather watch the black and white original.

The Unsinkable Molly Brown is still the best Titanic movie.

And Ben-Hur (1959) is still the best Jesus movie.

“Is that the one with Jesus?”

“Well, he’s in it, but it’s not really about him.”
