I hypothesise it might be connected to me clicking every single one of these thumbnails, but I’m not an expert on computers

CMV: Listening to ASMR is an inherently horny activity.

“Tingles” are you getting turned on because somebody is whispering or making rhythmic sounds. You are sexually attracted to the sound of paper tearing. If you watch an ASMR video that features a child, in any context, you are a pedophile. If you watch an ASMR video of a child tearing paper, you are a pedophile.

I’ve seen people suggest that ASMR is for falling asleep. I can buy that shit with like, rain, or ocean sounds, or other white noise. If you want to fall asleep by listening to a stranger whisper in your ear then you have a fetish for being murdered in your sleep. If it is a child doing the whispering, then you are a pedophile.

CMV: Listening to ASMR is an inherently horny activity.

Probably depends on the content, no? There are a bunch of creators who very consciously steer away from any kind of horny content and who aren’t doing the whole e-girl (or e-boy) aesthetic. Then you have “unintentional ASMR” videos featuring like old Japanese carpenters doing their thing which I doubt people are watching because they’re getting hot under the collar. Also, have you never just scratched or rubbed some material because you liked the sound and tactile sensation it made?

If you watch an ASMR video that features a child

ASMR channels with children sound like a monumentally awful idea

2012: “this person is talking quietly… that’s fine, I guess”

2020: “here’s a cottage industry with sponsorships and greenscreens and advanced recording equipment, you can pay money to Patreon for clips of women moaning into a microphone, there’s their Amazon wishlist by the way”

    Capitalism destroys everything

I honestly can’t begrudge anyone for trying to make a buck on the internet, whether it’s from Youtube, Twitch, podcasting or whatever… unless you’re a Nazi or something

In all honesty though, I remember a time when my recommendations were absolutely flooded with reactionary garbage for no legitimate logical reason and I much prefer this state of affairs- at least I know exactly why the machine overlords keep pushing breasts on me
