China said the United States is the “biggest disruptor of regional peace and stability” in the world in a scathing response Wednesday to a Pentagon report on China’s growing military buildup.
The annual report that is required by Congress is one way the Pentagon measures the military capabilities of China, which the U.S. government sees as its key threat in the Asia-Pacific region and America’s primary long-term security challenge.
The statement China’s Ministry of Defense issued in response called the Pentagon report’s findings false and used it in turn to hit back at the U.S.’ recent actions in helping Israel and Ukraine, as well as its buildup of military installations worldwide.
None of this is either here nor there in a context of why China hasn’t proven to be a capable superpower beyond regional squabbles of its own. Their claims at benevolent superpower developments prove to be a lie in a very obvious way. It’s a wonder global manufacturing hasn’t moved away entirely considering the risks of China never being beyond regional pettiness.
It’s only a regional squabble because Vietnam is being unreasonable. Vietnam is arguing that their claim over the island takes precedence because South Vietnam is the rightful predecessor to modern Vietnam…
But remind me, who overran Saigon?
Everything is a regional squabble with China! Name a year where China hasn’t had a grudge against anyone?! China always has a Tianmen square or something else on a burner. It’s easy for them to throw shit on everyone else when they never take responsibility for the crap they’re always a part of. Like previously said, saving face makes for a hell of a drug.
Who intervened in Vietnam, again?
