There is a discussion on Hacker News, but feel free to comment here as well.
Does anyone actually use the default mail app?
I used to use it and actually liked it. Then it started deciding that our companies main support email address should be named “Rebecca XYZ” and I needed to switch.
Thunderbird is much nicer on a small window at least.
There’s a default mail app?
They got rid of “Mail” and “Calendar” and are forcing a conversion to Outlook in 2024.
Unless you pay for an Office 365 subscription, Outlook will show you an ad at the top of your inbox that almost looks like an incoming email. It opens Edge regardless of your default browser when you click on it.
I fucking paid for this OS, god dammit. Microsoft can fuck right the hell off.
You paid for the OS, not the Office suite.
And dear god please just let me fucking pay a one time fee for the office suite you greedy fucks.
At least they haven’t taken any moves against how easy it is to spoof licensing. Helps that the best way to spoof is also an official license/software activation method for large companies.
They took away a feature I paid for and replaced it with one they want a subscription for, or that they want to clutter up with their own messaging to me.
Don’t you dare try to justify that. It’s theft. Their hubris is beyond limits.
I received an email from someone with a default Windows Mail signature that recently and was disgusted.
Where does the linked article say anything about ads?
Don’t forget you have to sync all your email to Microsoft’s servers.
