Cheers for the extra info! I’ll take a deeper look, I’ve written a quick summary from what I could put together so far, but it’s definitely worth a deeper exploration of! It’s a little concerning in general - even if the folks claim it’s harmless.
After shutting down Mastinator, boyter placed an apology page online with an apology and an explanation of the problems he sees with the fediverse.
Approximately a week later, mastinator is back up and running, and the apology page is still present

I’ve got an interview with the guy behind mastinator this afternoon… anything you’d like to ask?
He would have to have been aware of the concerns around the anonymous ability to bypass blocks etc when he went in to it. So what is it about this tool that he thinks will be a net positive to the fediverse that lead to him creating it anyway?
