However, in his speech at the convoy’s base camp, Berry advocated “the people” arresting police officers and politicians, as well as replacing Canada’s democratically-elected government.

Hey, look terrorists with plans for a coup.

These people are far right bigots using the guise of “save the children” to push their ideology. I hope nobody gets suckered by their lies. I really don’t want to see the bigotry that has taken hold in America, take roots here too.

If you bring up that the majority of childhood sexual abuse occurs in the home by the people responsible for taking care of the child, they lose their minds.

It’s clearly not about the children.

          Just dissonance.

The whole pedophile thing is more about demonizing political opponents than it is about protecting children.

So when you point out what is actually endangering children but doesn’t demonize their political opponents, you’ve gone off script.

The goal in their nonsense is the dehumanization and demonizing. Undermining that goal with an appeal to the underlying realities of the thing they are claiming is extremely dissonant as they are effectively caught between a rock and a hard place.

So their reaction is anger and frustration and dismissal, as actually engaging with the topic in a meaningful way would necessitate abandoning the world view they committed to where their hatred for others is justified based on the righteousness of their cause.

In case anyone else was curious about the unexplained initialism near the end of the article, WWG1-WGA is “Where we go one, we go all,” which apparently is a call of solidarity for QAnon followers to say they will support each other by following each other.

It’s disconcerting how many people are willing to believe the most outlandish claims without any hard evidence of anything. None of the ideas presented here passes “the sniff test.”

Who can possibly believe that elected officials are secretly ruining massive pedophelia rings, with teachers showing porn in classes and forcing kids to have gender reassignment surgery… It’s insane.

WWG1-WGA is a big part of the reason that the movement is so successful. People crave being part of something bigger, fighting some righteous battle in the name of good. Qanon exploits those desires and masquerades as just what they’re seeking. Unfortunately it’s not a righteous battle they’re engaging in, it’s an ignorant and destructive fairytale meant to spread fascism and benefit the far-right.

Her Majesty, Queen Roman Dildo Romana Didulo I, Queen of Canada? I’m getting a little worried that she and her courtiers might go Waco, but as long as they stay on the wacky side of crazy instead of the Waco side of crazy, I always get a kick out of her escapades.

I’m starting to get a little worried, but so far it’s been entertaining.
