“It should not be hard to shut down hatred and antisemitism where we see it. That is a core tenet of solidarity,” Ocasio-Cortez said.

The New York City chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America is facing a political firestorm after the organization promoted a pro-Palestine rally in the wake of Hamas militants’ attacks on Israeli communities.

The group did not organize Sunday’s rally, its leadership said Monday. But several lawmakers with DSA ties are distancing themselves from what was said at the event.

“It should not be hard to shut down hatred and antisemitism where we see it. That is a core tenet of solidarity,” Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y) and one of six DSA members in Congress, said in a statement late Monday — her first comments on the rally.

“The bigotry and callousness expressed in Times Square on Sunday were unacceptable and harmful in this devastating moment. It also did not speak for the thousands of New Yorkers who are capable of rejecting both Hamas’ horrifying attacks against innocent civilians as well as the grave injustices and violence Palestinians face under occupation,” she said.

People have to create good guys/bad guys to suit their point of view I guess. This time it’s not that easy, the picture is not that clear for most. But, the vile animalistic acts of Hamas can’t be justified in any way. Now, I expect Israel to be draconian in their approach which will light them up more.

Don’t know about that, but this morning I read about 40 babies being murdered in their cribs. I’d like to think that no US or Israeli soldier could even contemplate doing that.

Leaving aside that this is merely an unsubstantiated claim by the IDF, why aren’t Israelis animals when they bomb children or blockade food and water?

Do you think babies don’t die in their cribs when they’re blown up? Or they won’t die when they can’t get food or water?

Also, I’m actually skeptical this is real. Looking at an article:

Insider was unable to independently confirm what was found, but Israeli media outlets have also reported the claim, attributing it to soldiers.

The spokesperson told Insider that although he hadn’t seen images or videos himself, “soldiers on the ground who are there told me this.”

“These people [Hamas] are animals,” Dinar added. “They have butchered women and children in worse ways than ISIS.”

Hmm! No confirmation, no evidence, just testimony.

Now your false equivalence is justified! It’s probably not true and everybody does it, right? What nonsense.

How is it a false equivalence? Israelis murder Palestinian babies with bombs and starvation and are going to murder more. Are they animals?

No. Dehumanizing the enemy is fascist shit.

(also like, IDF has every incentive to make up shit like that - I’ll wait for independent confirmation)

I’m sure when Hamas starts beheading hostages on TikToc you will still think it’s justified. You and I have a different moral compass, my friend.
