I’m guessing you mean “list candidates”. The reason is because every candidate is campaigning for their party. Most candidates stand on both the list and in an electorate, so each candidate has an electorate where they will organise volunteers for door knocking, etc. Even if they have 0 chance of winning the electorate or getting in on the list, they will help to get the party vote up in their electorate.
