What they mean and what they don’t mean! Foremost, they mean only one thing: Someone has seen a problem on the server you run, what he wants to report!

What they do not mean:

  • Complete server shutdown
  • Threats with legal consequences
  • Shutdown of all services on the said domain
  • Personal attacks against the operator
  • Attacks against your Mastodon instance

What is the job of the Abuse Team?
The job of an Abuse Team member is to establish contact between the provider of a website and the person who filed the report. He acts as an uninvolved person as a mediator in case of an infringement, without the need to go directly to court! Which is especially evident when the message says something like “before I pass this on to my lawyer”.

The wannabe administrator nowadays, seems to see this as a threat and immediately spreads lies and hate on their “social” networks that he is being threatened. If I’m honest, such administrators simply don’t belong on the Internet. Anyone who thinks they can provide a service designed for more than a single user should first go back to school, preferably a monastic boarding school, since they obviously don’t seem to have the slightest idea of what they’re doing. Unless the spreading of hate and lies based on such reports are planned. Then a psychiatric hospital is recommended for such sociopaths.

What would such administrators do if Sony or Google contacted the Abuse Team because one of their users distributed a video with copyright-protected content? Do they then also act as victims in their social media?
