Not too sure about the replacement of random energy. It kind of feels like the same rules still apply: If you manage to make it one step away, you’re basically safe (even from halberds). If you don’t, you have to fight or use consumables.
Like, so far I’m not opposed to the change, it does make that somewhat more deterministic, but it doesn’t solve the underlying problem of running away being optimal+boring. I guess, that would require bigger changes, though…
