I can imagine that people in the USA, or very rational people, can be inspired by this article. However, in my opinion it is totally fine to be average, moderate and modest. In fact, by making life very competitive we also make invisible victims (mass media advertisements versus suicide by young anorexia girls comes to mind). The “winners” stand in the spotlights, and often we do not want to look at the “losers” for too long.

To me one of the most important things in life is inner peace. And with that comes reflection, and slowing down, rest well. Some daydreaming is very fine. And by daydreaming we might be able to influence our own future direction in a different way (Think alpha, theta, delta waves - https://brainworksneurotherapy.com/what-are-brainwaves)

I love this. Thank you. You are very wise. It isn’t always about the spotlight, but because of a perception through television and society we seem to think we have to live up to a certain standard. Which is B.S. Like you suggest, reflect. The article suggests rest, which is coexistent with reflection.

Thank you, I appreciate your reply. Cheers.

And that reminds me, years ago a sort of new word got popular in Holland : “onthaasten”, which could translate into “de-haste”, or “slow down”, that was a nice development. For some time people picked it up and applied it to their lives. Apart from that a “sabbatical year” seems to have gained acceptance in some cultures, more than say decades ago.

You seem to have all your ducks in a row. It seems as if you have it all figured out. Like a mailman or woman. I like chatting with you. You are positive and have much wisdom. When i watch professional sports, those guys seem to move increasingly fast, like cheetahs. They work around the clock to get to that point. Although they are the fastest of the fast they manage to rest. But, they don’t get too much rest because that’s when you lose your speed.

It just suggests that you do not get too much rest.

not just about self_empowerment, but could include self-help, therapy, psychology, philosophy, community efforts and so on.
