A war with China wouldn’t be to take Chinese territory, at least not from a US perspective. It would be to defend Taiwan, which the US would have no problem doing.

Nah, Taiwan is far too critical to US national security due to the massive number of chips we need from them for all of our military equipment.
We would actually go to full on war over them if needed.
