i started smoking cigarettes a while ago and noticed i get very relaxed when the headrush kicks in obviously i don’t want to make smoking a habit, should i ask my doctor about getting back on ritalin or something or would that make manic episodes worse i already take geodon so i should at least be a bit sedated

The relaxation you feel is the alleviation of withdrawal symptoms, which come in her very quickly after the last cigarette. It’s not ACTUAL relaxation. I’m super sensitive to simulants and nicotine was messing me up so bad without even realizing it.

You should see what the p-doc has to say. Were you in Ritalin before, when you had an ADHD diagnosis or something? Or was it used to help you with your BP?

back then i didnt have a bipolar diagnosis but when i was diagnosed i said ive mostly been dealing with it all my life. i was also on risperidone as a child so they knew i had some symptoms. ritalin was for adhd/tourette’s syndrome.

thought some people might have experience at least
