    In Italy, “public opinion” (=the hegemony of Italian bourgeoisie) is racist, sexist, islamophofe, paternalist, gerontocratic, colonialist, etc.. Aïcha Romano’s release provoked a short circuit in that hegemony on many levels. The result is that the woman received even death threats. This is not only a right-wing phenomenon: it encompasses from the fascist to the “liberal” commentators.
