When I remember I add bits and pieces to my journal (I go through stages and then forget to collect stuff). I mostly use double-sided tape from the paint department at my local hardware store but I have a bottle of clear Elmers glue too, since I’ve seen that recommended quite a bit.

I used the glue to add some business cards from a local restaurant, only they were gloss cards and the glue gave out completely within a week, leaving a nice glossy expanse of nothing.

What do you use to add things to your journal? Any brand you swear by, or would avoid like the plague?

I used to use glue sticks but they were a cheap brand and only lasted a year. I don’t remember seeing Uhu her about Pritt sound familiar.

I generally use Elmer’s gluesticks. I don’t usually have much trouble sticking paper, magazine paper or scrapbook paper (noting I’m very heavy handed with my glue) but anything heavier I just use regular packing tape or double sided tape. I’m not very precious with my journals though so if you are, I would check out the dot roller that someone already mentioned. 😊

I’ve been using the kokuyo dot liner for years and I have no complaints.

Do they add much bulk to the pages? I tend to stick my photos in the same spot on every page and if the dots add a bump, I start getting frustrated by the lack of a flat surface.

I’d guess it depends on the thickness of what you are pasting. They’re thin and I’ve only put down postcard like items. There is a double sided sticky tape out there too that’s thinner. The dots are easier to manage. The tape a little messier. They both come in a self applying dispenser. I got mine off of Amazon. The tape is not temporary. You’ll need to be precise your first time applying it.

Not temporary is good though, surely? I like the idea of a dispenser, that sounds a lot less messy than a liquid glue.
