Launched on July 26, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart only peaked at 8,757 concurrent players (CCU) on Steam (via SteamDB).
It currently holds a “Very Positive” rating based on 670 user reviews, with 84% of them being positive.
This makes Rift Apart the third worst launch on PC for a PlayStation game, only above Returnal (6,691 CCU) and Sackboy: A Big Adventure (610 CCU). There is also a PC version of Helldivers, with 6,744 peak CCU, but its developer Arrowhead is not SIE’s first-party studio.
I really wish we could stop talking about concurrent players when talking about single player games, it’s a weak (and mostly meaningless) metric.
But also this game felt like it got no marketing, and I don’t think Ratchet and Clank is as well known as Uncharted or The Last of Us, so just on name recognition it was never going to pull the same numbers. Hopefully Sony doesn’t stop the PC ports, because I’m loving the fact these games are finally on PC.
Right!
I remember seeing articles when the concurrent player base for Hogwarts drop down. Like no duh. It’s a single player game with a finite number of quests. The concurrent player metric only matters when it’s an online game and you need multiple people to play with.

They’re getting upset about a female version of the main character from a different universe? That’s like the main alternative universe trope
