    This is what makes me think we’re doomed; you can explain and demonstrate to people how Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, reddit, etc are manipulating them and they’ll agree with you; but they keep using them anyways.

    It’s a little bit like Amazon or Walmart; people feel like they’re stuck using it and they have to be shown an alternative and convinced that the short term pain is worth the long term benefits.
