Oh, a cross country bike! That sounds like it would only be a matter of time before I came off it :P

It’s so light! It’s interesting, because when I read reviews, they all comment on how heavy it is compared to more expensive road bikes, but coming from my background with a hybrid, the road bike is SO light.

I mostly use it for commuting though, as a way of keeping up my fitness, and cross training for my running, which is my main interest. I average about 22km/h on my commutes. Much faster when I do dedicates rides on bike paths, but I don’t do them so much

I personally like aluminum frames better than steel or carbon because its a good in between light and sturdy.

I’ve been training for a 100 mile dash on my bike and I’m trying to get my average from 13 mph to 15 mph. I love my bike, I take my bike through the worst weather conditions like snow and rain and its so fun. What’s your before meal preparation for bike rides?

Generally nothing more than a coffee.

I get up early, I have my coffee, and then I ride. I eat on the other side of the ride :)

Really, I would suffer if I didn’t eat anything and I would be going slower than a running chicken.

I tend to run and ride early in the morning, and if I eat first, I lose momentum and then feel heavy during the run.
