I just saw the release and don’t know what’s actually different or new in this bigger update. Could not find a changelog or a blog post highlighting the changes. I will try it out today. If you have a changelog, please post a link here. Happy New Year everyone!
I think I’m like 1 of 5 people that played and enjoyed midtown madness 3 on xbox. Last time I looked emulation had forgotten it, wonder if this can run it!
I’m one of those 5. I bought that game back in the day. It was pretty fun. Xbox had so many good games.
It’s a very good game! I remember 100%ing it, lots of fun.
The compatibility report says it is playable, but has some minor issues: https://xemu.app/titles/4d53002a/#Midtown-Madness-3 I don’t know how accurate this actually is. To search for other game titles, look here: https://xemu.app/#compatibility
I tried it a couple of months ago. It’s playable, but even on a Ryzen 5 5600, it barely managed to maintain 30 fps at 640x480. Performance might have improved since then though.
It’s a shame Microsoft made it exclusive to Xbox so it didn’t have extended longevity like MM2 has with the PC modding scene
I wonder how much of the core has been changed to prevent rebasing onto a more recent QEMU? We’ve done a bunch of cleanups and additions too the x86 emulation since 7.2.
