This new bill, signed into law by President Joe Biden, includes a provision that limits access to gender-affirming care services for the children of people serving in the military.
The fuck? Did Joe fall and bump his head?
🤦♂️
Edit: I see why…
Yup, gotta keep the Military Industrial Complex going… 🙄
Or gotta give Ukraine one last chance of achieving something before Putin’s favourite peon gets into power.
If he vetoed the bill over this, Congress probably just wouldn’t pass a bill to fund the military! It’s must pass! This is our one shot! /s
And as we all know, if the military goes without approved funding limits, it completely breaks down and becomes useless overnight.
Sure would be nice if every single citizen of the united states gets to personally removed slap every member of congress, presidential cabinet, vp, pres, etc… When a completely unrelated thing gets shoved into a bill.
There is 0 reason an (hypothetical) infrastructure bill for new sprinklers in hospitals needs to include a provision that Wisconsin dairy farms get a new milking machine. Those two things have nothing to do with each other. So why are they in the same bill.
If you want it to be a bill, put it in its own separate proposal.
As though Democrats wouldn’t gleefully vote for that too.
Yes, but now they can’t say they didn’t know it was in there.
And they can’t say “I voted for it because the rest of the bill does good for _____”
So it would help prevent them from keeping their mask on
As far as I’m concerned, the military spending was tacked on to the anti-trans bill.
It’s not completely unrelated, it’s regarding gender affirming care for those who have TRICARE, ie the military insurance.
The reason multiple topics are included in one bill is that, otherwise, nothing will ever get done.
The problem we need to fix is term limits and age limits for congress, not forcing each topic to be on different bills.
