Elon Musk is backing the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD), triggering an outcry in Berlin in the run-up to a critical snap election.

“Only the AfD can save Germany,” the billionaire X owner wrote on the platform on Friday in the latest of a series of endorsements of European far-right parties.

Musk has recently supported European populist-right politicians in increasingly clear terms, including Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloniand Reform UK leader Nigel Farage. Earlier this week, Farage boasted that Musk is “right behind” him — and raised the prospect that the tech tycoon would financially back his Reform UK party.

Hard no. Musk needs to lose his power by losing his popularity. Anyone he backs, verbally or financially, needs to see it as a net negative for their prospects. He needs to be vilified and demonized for his behavior.

    Should he be assassinated? No.

I dunno, I actually understand this take. Unlike the UHC CEO, Musk’s swift departure from existence would actually have positive effects for the world. He’s not just some benign CEO that can be easily replaced by one of thousands of like-minded sycophants, Musk is an actual dangerous force who individually holds a lot of power.

Right now, it’s getting easier and easier to give serious consideration to the “kill baby Hitler with a time machine” thought experiment.

Like that isn’t already happening for years. Maaaaany hate him, make fun of him, call out his lies, deceptions, scams, crimes. But it’s like a religion. There are enough people who simply don’t want to see the truth. And the people who can put him behind bars are on his payroll or under his dome of power. So as much as I’m against assassination in general, I think there are some cases where sadly it may be the only option to stop a tyrant.
