The worst thing progressives do is assume everyone is as informed as themselves.
Immigrants and first generation Americans more often then not have labor jobs, work unusual shifts with a small number of other people, live in districts with bad schools, and don’t speak or read English. They watch news on culturally oriented outlets like telemundo and only interact with other immigrants in meaningful ways.
It’s extremely easy to use that bubble to circulate disinformation. It’s coming from other people they love and trust and tinted with their own culture.
The internet exists. There’s plenty of Spanish, or any other language, news coverage of anything you could want to know about. People have the responsibility of educating themselves. Failing to do so is just that, a failure. Don’t give anyone cover to remain in ignorance.
Educated or no, doesn’t take a rocket scientist for a blue collar worker to look at their grocery bills and see that they tripled, or to figure out that they can’t afford to see a doctor or send their kid to college.

Dems did this exact same shit in 2016. They learned nothing. They’re still beating the Clintonite drum of praying that money from the rich will buy them enough name recognition to overcome the fact that they’ve ignored the descent into poverty that millions of their voters faced over the last four years. The same was true in 2016 when Hillary was running as an extension of Obama, and they just ignored that Obama presided over a foreclosure crisis.
And, from what you can see on this thread, apparently their plan is to just double down and lose some more.

Really sucks to be Jaime and his kids though. The wife should have looked into what she was signing up for, i’ve known for decades that if you want to be here legally you need to leave before coming back and there’s no guarantee.
This country is so fucked up, they don’t even have the critical thinking skills or knowledge to understand why our economy is so bad right now: Slashed corporate tax rates and media, healthcare and employment controlled by the ultra wealthy. We’re just neo-slaves given less and less to make our owners more and more. Our health isn’t the ownership’s problem, and we’re only useful as long as we are producing them more wealth.
Sky’s daughter isn’t going to see him anymore if her husband gets deported, because she would follow. In a long-winded way, Sky voted for her to be out of his life.
